SENIORS: There are currently two local scholarships available.
One is the Evertson Scholarship in memory of Ms. Evertson, a graduate and long-time educator at Gore Schools. Interested seniors must turn in an autobiography, details about your future education plans, and how the scholarship will benefit you in post secondary education. This $2,000 scholarship is available to Gore seniors only, so this is a GREAT opportunity. These must be emailed to Mrs. McFarland by March 13th.
The other is the Wayne and Phyllis Sloan Agricultural Scholarship, which was established in 2025 to honor a graduating senior from Gore High School that best exemplifies the value of the Sloan family farming operation. This scholarship honors the memory of Wayne Sloan and wife Phyllis of 67 years. Things that exemplify the Sloan values are work ethic, loyalty, integrity, honesty, and the love for agriculture. Please complete an essay in 300 words or less describing yourself, your accomplishments, goals for the future, your volunteer experiences, and tell us how agriculture has impacted your life. This $1000.00 scholarship can be used to further education in a field of your choice.
Please access your school email account, which details all requirements for these scholarships or see Mrs. McFarland in the counselor's office.

💚Our Very Own Little Cherokee Ambassador!💚

🎉 Cherokee Heritage Day at Gore Lower Elementary!
On Tuesday, our students had an amazing time celebrating Cherokee Heritage Day! A big thank you to Marsha Cordray and the Cherokee Nation for teaching our students traditional Cherokee games like stickball, ring toss, blow darts, and the game of graces.
Students learned that blow darts are made from Scottish thistle, the game of graces was adopted from France and played by ladies at the seminary for exercise, and ring toss became popular during the Great Depression when families had very little money for games.
After a fun morning of learning and playing, students enjoyed delicious grape dumplings — a traditional Cherokee dish often served at family gatherings. Thank you to Ms. Nancy, Ms. Ashley, and Ms. Kayla for preparing this special treat!
It was a wonderful day of culture, history, and hands-on learning. Wado to everyone who helped make this day so special! 💛

Huge congrats to Jaydan Gates, the 2026 Oklahoma JH All State runner up at 160lbs! He battled some of the best 8th and 9th graders from all classes across the state, picking up big wins over Tuttle, Jenks, El Reno, Weatherford, and Piedmont.

Last night we recognized our senior wrestlers before their duel against Heavener. Shout out to these guys! We also want to take a moment to recognize the rowdy crowd who came out in full force to support them. (So awesome!) If you have not seen the work these boys put into their season, you're missing out. Our wrestling program is going places!
