Today, Coach Lewis took his Careers class outside for a campus clean-up, demonstrating the importance of taking pride in one’s school while also providing a service to others. He's teaching our middle schoolers that skills like these matter in every career---and in life! Thank you to these awesome kids and Coach Lewis!

Mrs. Randolph spoke to the middle school students about the important topics of mental health and physical wellbeing, and Mr. Pohlsander delivered a great message to our high schoolers about mindset, goal-setting, and self-affirmations. It was a very impactful Fast Friday session!

Mrs. Andrews nominated Mrs. Kinion for Arvest Bank's 'We Love Teachers' campaign, which awards $500 to each of its winners. Today they visited the high school campus to surprise Mrs. Kinion, letting her know that she was selected as a winner! Mrs. Kinion teaches 8th grade math, high school honors sciences, and ACT prep. She also coaches elementary cross country and serves at the Gifted & Talented sponsor. Congratulations, Mrs. Kinion, and thank you for the hard work you do with our students each and every day!

🎤 Gore Elementary Students Shine on the Air! Three 5th graders from Gore Elementary learned how to interview people for the news — and then how to broadcast like pros! Jordyn Davenport, Kase Peevy, and Ganon Webb each interviewed a different member of the Gore community. They wrote their own questions, conducted the interviews, typed up their stories, and recorded them at Mix 105.1 in Sallisaw. The interviews will air at different times, and we’ll share that schedule soon. We know you’ll be impressed with their talent and hard work!💚🏴‍☠️

The 5th-grade Character Council recently sponsored the Extra Yard Program in cooperation with Sonic and the College Football Playoff Foundation. As part of this program, students were invited to nominate a teacher who has made the greatest impact on their lives — someone who has helped them see their own potential and influenced how they think about themselves and others. In short, a teacher who truly goes the Extra Yard for students and their education at Gore Public Schools. This was not an easy choice for the students, as 21 teachers and coaches were nominated! What an incredible reflection of Gore Schools — our educators are making a positive difference every day. Those positive influencers include: Coach Carter, Mr. Chapman, Mr. Constant, Mrs. Edgmon, Coach Ellis, Coach Estes, Mrs. James, Mrs. Kinion, Mrs. Lufkin, Mrs. Mattox, Mrs. Montgomery, Mrs. Morris, Mr. Murray, Mrs. Queen, Mr. Reading, Coach Reasoner, Mrs. Ridinger, Mrs. Roberts, Mrs. Spears, Coach Thouvenel, and Mrs. Walker. Thank you to each of these outstanding educators for going above and beyond for Gore students. This year’s “Extra Yard” award recipient was Mr. Calvert Reading. He received an Extra Yard Teacher t-shirt, a DonorsChoose gift card, a Sonic gift card, and an Extra Yard certificate. The Character Council, Sonic, and the College Football Playoff Foundation would like to say: “Thank you, Mr. Reading, for making Gore Public Schools a better place by caring and always going the Extra Yard for our students.”
